ABOUT US

The O’Fallon Historical Museum is dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of the history, culture, and stories of Fallon County and the surrounding area.

Baker, MT was founded in open range cattle country in 1908 and built by the influx of people for the railroad and homesteaders seeking an opportunity for a better life. Agriculture, followed by natural gas, and then oil production, provided the means for development in this rural setting on the eastern plains of Montana.

Our museum is housed in six buildings. The anchor building is the original Fallon County Jail that was built in 1916 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Steer Montana, the world’s largest steer at 3,980 pounds, is a featured attraction. Admission is FREE – we look forward to hosting you!
