Night at the Museum

Night at the Museum is an annual evening event that brings Fallon County history to life through immersive storytelling, family activities, and community gathering.
Visitors explore the Museum after hours while encountering live historical reenactments based on real people and events from local history. In 2026, the program will feature three new historical stories, written and performed specifically for this year’s event, offering fresh perspectives even for returning guests.
The evening is designed to be welcoming and accessible for all ages, combining history, performance, and hands-on elements in a relaxed, engaging format. Night at the Museum highlights the power of storytelling to connect past and present and remains one of the Museum’s most popular annual programs.
Melissa Rost will portray Lorene Kirschten, a Baker historian and former librarian, Jasmine Qualley will portray Walter H. Winchester, a North Dakota judge who fought under General Custer during the Civil War, and Sierra Weidner will tell the story of “The Girl with the Gun,” a 15-year old girl who tried to mastermind an escape from the Fallon County Jail.
Performances begin at 6pm and repeat every 20 minutes until 9pm, so you can arrive anytime throughout the evening and rotate through all three stories.
